Newborn girl’s body found

LAHORE: The body of a newborn girl was found in the Harbanspura Police precincts on Sunday. The body was found on a garbage heap. The locals informed the police, who took the body to the city morgue.

A fire in the multi-storey building of an engineering company on Davis Road reduced valuables worth millions of rupees to ashes. The fire erupted due to short-circuiting on the building’s third floor, engulfing it completely within minutes. Fire Brigade and Rescue 1122 firefighters managed to extinguish the fire after a two-hour operation. Edhi Foundation ambulances rushed to the building. However no one received any injuries as the building was empty when the fire erupted, Edhi sources said. staff report
